HOME REMODELING
I have also had an interest in woodworking and home remodeling.  As time permitted I dabbled in building furniture; bed frames, bunk beds, headboards, and more.   Over the years I took to remodeling my own home with ceramic tile bath, installing laminate/vinyl flooring, and more.

Since the pandemic hit and I was let go from my corporate job, I used the time to dabble in remodeling houses.  

Cabinet Painting
I worked with a professional painter to paint cabinetry.  I assisted with the prep in covering the flooring, covering counters and all exposed areas that were not going to be painted.  Removed cabinet doors/drawers/hardware and cleaned them in preparation for painting.  Moved doors & drawer fronts to the drying rack, and assisted with the main cabinet spraying.  Once complete I assisted in removing coverings, installing hardware, and installing doors/drawer fronts.   Overall cleanup and out the door to the next one!  Click here to see before and after pictures of one home.

2 Bedroom 2 1/2 bath Condo
I assisted my nephew in remodeling his newly purchased condo.  We installed approx. 900 sq. ft. of vinyl flooring in his lower level (after removing carpeting).  Once the vinyl was done, I installed molding throughout.  We also gutted and replaced flooring, sinks, toilets, vanities, and mirrors in 2 bathrooms.  I replaced all of the electrical outlets and switches with new and replaced the covers.  We replaced the countertop and sink on the wet bar.  Outside I sanded down his upper deck and re-stained it.  Click here to see before & after pictures.

Frankenmuth house remodel
I was hired as project manager to remodel a house in Frankenmuth, MI.   3 bedroom 1 bath house, built in 1920.   There were 2 bedrooms and a nook area upstairs.  Sanded and stained the hardwood floors, repainted all of the rooms, replaced lighting, replaced trim, and added window treatments.

The main floor had 1 bedroom with a walk in closet, living room, dining room, bathroom, and butlers pantry.  Sanded and stained the hardwood in the living room, bedroom, and walk-in closet.  Installed laminate flooring in the dining room and butlers pantry (including trim).  Painted all of the rooms in the lower level. 

Completely gutted the bathroom.  Replaced damaged subflooring, then installed ceramic tile.  Installed wainscoting on the lower half of the bathroom.  Installed cabinet, toilet, and clawfoot tub with shower attachment.  

The house, built in 1920, used to use wood stove for heat.  The oak wood had a soot residue built up throughout the house.  I stripped the butlers pantry cabinets down to the original wood and resealed it.  Turned out beautiful.  Replaced the sink and cabinets on the sink side with new cabinets, new stainless steel sink, and had a granite countertop installed.

Shed rebuild
My niece has a shed in her backyard that had serious rot, hole in the roof, and chipmunk infestation.   We removed the old roof, replaced rotted boards, and installed a new roof.  We removed the current rotted sides and replaced them with SmartSide engineered wood panels.  I built new doors and installed 2 vents.  I added trim around the shed and installed new hardware on the doors.  Then it was painted.  Click here to see before and after pictures.
